With hundreds of "green" labels in the marketplace it is hard to know which designations are credible and which are just greenwashing. At ITW we are committed to developing sustainable, environmentally-preferable solutions and we want to prove it to you.
In this section you will find information on our newly designated BioPreferred metalworking fluids. You may recognize some of these products; we’ve been setting the industry standards in biobased lubrication since 1979 with our Accu-Lube product line, long before “green” meant more than a color. The formulas aren’t new-and-improved; these are the same, dependable products you’ve come to expect from ITW Accu-Lube, Rustlick, and SafeTap labels. What is new is the USDA BioPreferred certification.

What is the USDA BioPreferred® Program?The purpose of the USDA BioPreferred Program is to promote the increased purchase and use of biobased products. The program is expected to promote economic development, creating new jobs and providing new markets for farm commodities. To the extent that the BioPreferred program achieves its purpose, the increased purchase of biobased products will also be expected to reduce petroleum consumption, increase the use of renewable resources, better manage the carbon cycle, and may contribute to reducing adverse environmental and health impacts.
